Jeff, did you drive?

Scott, Yes, I did drive. I was OTR for about 6 months and then drove doubles, regionally up in the Northwest. I still have my CDL with all the endorsements. It's a great feeling driving the big rigs, hooking and aun-hooking, putting it into the door..... lots of very cool stuff, and lots of hard stuff too, but all in all a great life.

PETRO, my father being a O/O refuses loades to the NW, he told me the NORTHWEST is one of the hardest places to drive? What is your input on this.

I loved driving in the Northwest. the winter can be challenging, so I see your Dad's point, but the rest of the year is amazing. I had a run up from Spokane, to Troy MT, through Sandpoint, Id....and that drive was amazing. I would get headed back as the sun was coming up over the Rockies and the views were spectacular..... I loved it!

PETRO- Im sure running the Northwest, you had to lock up a few times. Share with me your best chain story. Whats the drive like? Do you have to run them on, even if the storm is not there yet? Are you breaking the law if you dont drive with them, when your suppose too? Does it hurt the truck?

Double T, Believe it or not, I only had to chain up once, and really could have gotten by without it. chains are a major pain to put on, mostly because when you do it, the weather is ugly. The actual job isn't too tough. I learned that you don't want to have them on unless you are driving on snow. If you drive with them on pavement, they will burn up and actually grind away the links. It's a bumpy ride, but it keeps you rollin.

Thanks Jeff, awesome info! Just a few more ,for the road ( over the road- that is). I love to hear about the truckers side of things! You said earlier, you ran 'team'. That has to be a change from driving solo.

Do you sacrafic alot?
Is it more interesting?
Does the truck keep rolling around the clock?
Does the other driver, become your best friend?

I had a trucker stop by my store coming off the freeway, he was moving furniture, jersey and back- once I knew he was a driver, I had to ask him about the life... on the road.

He wasnt very happy at the time, he was running team, and he said his partner wanted to sleep all the time. Didnt sound like a fair deal to me. Although he seem frustrated, he bought about $40 worth of merchadise, and seem like a nice guy.

I asked my dad about team driving, he said he perfers to run alone.
My father ran with his wife for about 4 years, but she never drove. Please share with me some insight on your days running 'team'.- thanks

Hey Scott,
The only time I ran team was when I was in training at Central Refridgerated. That was all out runnin....we never stopped rolling except to fuel up. We criscrossed the country and there were times, I really had no idea where I was.. is this Memphis, Atlanta, Albuquerque??? It was fun and if Caroline and I drove together that would be great, but I wouldn't want to drive with anyone else. I admire those guys driving team.

THATS AWESOME, having Caroline on the passenger side, singing to you "Loredo Waits _ "LIVE" while your criss crossing the country. At this point it really doesnt matter what state your in- Caroline's VOICE will keep those 18 rollin- forever!

JEFF- GREAT STUFF!!!! Thanks for sharing- Have a Bless day, my Brother Petro! That pretty much LOCKS my vote for PETRO'08.

OK , what color should we paint FLORIDA on the map, if the REPUBL are blue, demo's are RED- what COLOR IS PETRO - after winning a dominate state?
